I thank Virginia Norton for her excellent article about Shirley Lynes that appeared in the March 3 Religion section.

Ms. Lynes is serving a mission in Russia for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is a wonderful example to us all. I hope I can have that much energy and courage when I reach her age. I am sure

her children and grandchildren will enjoy hearing about her experiences. Perhaps you would consider reporting on how she is doing in a few months and upon her return.  I would like to add that the church Ms.

Lynes belongs to should be cited by its full name: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; or the shortened version: The Church of Jesus Christ. ``Mormon'' is a   nickname and should not be used to refer

to the church...
